At the Healesville Living & Learning Centre, our projects are co-designed with local residents, rooted in Asset-Based Community Development and the Social Model of Health. Every project builds skills, strengthens connections, and puts the community in the driver’s seat.

Current Projects

Community Garden

A shared space where locals grow fresh food, learn gardening skills, and connect with neighbors.

Community Events

Helping community members build confidence with technology through practical, hands-on learning sessions.

Community Repair Sessions

Bring broken household items and learn how to repair them with help from volunteers and local experts.

How Projects Work — The HLLC Approach

Every project follows a simple pathway that puts people first.

Community-Identified

Projects respond to what the community tells us matters. Needs, ideas and priorities come from local residents — not top-down.

Co-Designed

Participants actively help shape what happens — from planning to delivery. This builds ownership, agency and engagement.

Skill-Building

Every project leaves people with something they’ve made, learned, or can use. Confidence grows through doing.
